How the TRONEXO Challenge WorksRules, Phases and Funding Models

The FASTLANE, CHECKPOINT and VERIFIED symbols: a lightning bolt, a flag and a check mark

The TRONEXO Challenge is a simulated prop trading environment designed to assess trading performance, risk management and consistency under predefined rules. TRONEXO currently offers three paths: FASTLANE, which has no traditional evaluation phase; CHECKPOINT, with one evaluation phase; and VERIFIED, with two evaluation phases. All standard models operate on demo accounts with virtual balances rather than personal live brokerage accounts. For the complete process, see How TRONEXO Works.

TRONEXO Funding Models at a Glance

Model Structure Virtual account size Evaluation profit target Trading period Simulated profit split
FASTLANE No traditional evaluation phase Up to $250,000 No traditional target Unlimited 80%
CHECKPOINT 1 phase Up to $1,000,000 10% Unlimited 80%
VERIFIED 2 phases Up to $1,000,000 10% + 5% Unlimited 80%

Each model has its own drawdown, consistency and trading-day requirements, so the rules of one model should not be assumed to apply to another. Compare the current parameters in TRONEXO Funding Models & Rules.

What Is a Prop Trading Challenge?

A prop trading challenge is an evaluation in which a trader works toward predefined objectives while remaining within specific trading and risk-management rules.

At TRONEXO, these rules can include:

  • a simulated profit target,
  • maximum daily loss,
  • maximum overall drawdown,
  • minimum trading days,
  • consistency requirements.

The objective is therefore not simply to generate the highest simulated result as quickly as possible. A trader must reach the required objective without breaching the rules of the selected model.

FASTLANE: No Traditional Evaluation Phase

FASTLANE is the most direct TRONEXO path. Instead of completing a traditional evaluation first, the trader begins on a TRONEXO profit demo account and works within the model’s risk, consistency and payout-eligibility conditions.

FASTLANE currently includes:

  • virtual account sizes up to $250,000,
  • no traditional evaluation phase,
  • no traditional evaluation profit target,
  • unlimited trading period,
  • 3% maximum daily drawdown,
  • 6% trailing maximum drawdown,
  • minimum 5 trading days, including 3 profitable days with at least 0.50% profit each,
  • 25% consistency rule,
  • 80% simulated profit split.

See the current FASTLANE rules in Funding Models & Rules.

CHECKPOINT: One-Phase Challenge

CHECKPOINT is TRONEXO’s one-phase evaluation model. Its Trade Check phase currently requires a 10% simulated profit target while the trader remains within the applicable risk limits.

Current evaluation parameters include:

  • virtual account sizes up to $1,000,000,
  • one evaluation phase,
  • 10% simulated profit target,
  • 3% maximum daily drawdown,
  • 6% trailing maximum drawdown,
  • minimum 5 trading days,
  • unlimited trading period,
  • 50% consistency rule.

After successfully completing Trade Check, an eligible trader can progress to a TRONEXO profit demo account, where a different set of parameters applies. See the current CHECKPOINT rules in Funding Models & Rules.

VERIFIED: Two-Phase Challenge

VERIFIED uses two consecutive evaluation phases: Testing and Verification. Phase 1 currently uses a 10% simulated profit target. Phase 2 uses a 5% simulated profit target.

For accounts up to $500,000, the current daily drawdown is 5% and the maximum overall drawdown is 10%. For the $1 million account, these limits are 4% and 8% respectively. A minimum of 5 trading days applies to each evaluation phase, and the overall trading period is unlimited. See the current VERIFIED rules in Funding Models & Rules.

Which TRONEXO Model Fits Which Trader?

There is no single model that is objectively right for every trader.

The main structural difference is straightforward: FASTLANE removes the traditional evaluation stage, CHECKPOINT tests the trader in one evaluation phase, and VERIFIED spreads the evaluation across two phases. The choice should therefore be based on the complete rule structure rather than on account size alone.

Before choosing, compare the current profit targets, drawdown methodology, consistency rules, minimum trading days and simulated profit split.

TRONEXO expert insight

There is no ideal model that suits every trader. The key difference is how much room for error each model leaves. With a 5% daily and 10% maximum drawdown (4% and 8% on the $1M account), VERIFIED gives the trader more space than CHECKPOINT, which works with 3% and 6% at the same 10% profit target — which also makes VERIFIED the more suitable choice for beginners. FASTLANE may look simpler, as it uses the same drawdowns as CHECKPOINT, but keep in mind that it adds a minimum profit of 0.50% per profitable day. It therefore suits more experienced and ambitious traders.

Why the Drawdown Rules Matter

The headline account size does not tell a trader how much room they have for losses. That is defined by the risk rules. For example, CHECKPOINT currently combines a 3% balance-based daily limit with a 6% equity-based trailing drawdown. VERIFIED uses a different structure, with its maximum loss limits depending on account size.

Understanding these differences is essential before adapting a trading strategy to a challenge. Read more in Risk Management in Prop Trading.

No Fixed Overall Time Limit

FASTLANE, CHECKPOINT and VERIFIED currently use an unlimited trading period. For the evaluation-based models, this means the trader does not need to reach the simulated profit target before a fixed overall expiry date.

Other conditions still apply. A trader still needs to satisfy the relevant minimum trading days, drawdown rules, consistency requirements and profit targets. The lack of a fixed overall deadline removes one external time constraint; it does not remove the challenge rules themselves. Read more in Trading Psychology in Prop Trading.

What Happens After Passing CHECKPOINT or VERIFIED?

After successfully completing the required evaluation phase or phases, an eligible trader can conclude a Cooperation Agreement and progress to TRONEXO Trader mode on a TRONEXO profit demo account. The account remains simulated: both Challenge accounts and TRONEXO Accounts are simulated accounts, and potential Payouts are performance rewards based on simulated trading results rather than shares of real-market investment returns.

Current simulated profit splits are:

  • FASTLANE: 80%
  • CHECKPOINT: 80%
  • VERIFIED: 80%

Payout eligibility depends on the applicable rules and Terms. See TRONEXO Funding Models & Rules and the Terms & Conditions.

Key Takeaway

TRONEXO currently offers three different routes through its simulated prop trading ecosystem: FASTLANE with no traditional evaluation phase, CHECKPOINT with one evaluation phase, and VERIFIED with two evaluation phases.

The model names are simple. The rules behind them are what matter. Before choosing a Challenge, compare how the profit target, drawdown limits, consistency requirements and trading-day conditions fit the way you trade — in Funding Models & Rules and How TRONEXO Works.
